Breast Cancer Connections offers support, networking for young women

Niki Calastas is a busy young woman. A single mother of two small kids, she works as a program administrator at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. And last year, she was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer.

Thank you for the story. We are all grateful for the wonderful work of Breast Cancer Connections! I wanted to share another resource not mentioned. Healing Partners, is a community-service program that pairs women diagnosed with breast cancer with Healing Touch volunteers who provide ongoing session for three months. It is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy work that promotes deep relaxation, and is used to manage the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, such as fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, pain and lymphedema. It has been a blessing in my life.
