Abbie Smithson's photo opportunity presented itself in the form of her sister's prom night. The Menlo Atherton High School student's sister was all dressed up with her hair done when Smithson took her shot. While nearly all prom-goers have their picture taken, not everyone gets the treatment Smithson's sister received.

The 16-year-old Redwood City native worked her magic by putting her 35-mm camera on a very low exposure at low shutter speed and taking the shot without a flash. But even Smithson was surprised at the final product. "I didn't now it was going to come out with the double reflection."
