Suspect is still at large after incident at Glass Slipper Inn

A man with a knife robbed a woman and then sexually assaulted her during an arranged meeting at a room in the Glass Slipper Inn in Palo Alto on Saturday, March 9, according to police.

The assailant, who is still at large, also tried to rob an associate of the woman as he left the room.

Officers responded to the call at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday but were unable to locate the man using police canine from the Mountain View Police Department.

Police say the assailant arranged to meet the female victim at a room in the hotel after finding her advertisement for massage online.

He immediately threatened her with a knife as she entered the room, ordering her to give him all her money. The victim, a woman in her 50s, complied, and the man ordered her to participate in a sex act with him.

As he left the room, he encountered an associate of the woman sitting in the chair. He threatened the second victim, a woman in her 40s, with the knife and demanded money. The woman had no money to give him, so he left on foot headed north on the east sidewalk of El Camino Real.

Police said neither victim was stabbed by the man.

The victims described him as an Asian male in his 30s or 40s, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing blue jeans and a brown, hooded sweatshirt.

So did the man rent the motel room? If so, what kind of identification did he use? Or is the Glass Slipper one of those places that rents rooms by the hour--no questions asked?

Based on the yelp reviews, yeah. Very seedy.

This is one questionable story - all the actors are questionable.

Check with the police - I am curious as to the repuation of this facility - I have wondered for years as it doesn't appear very reputable and a contributor to this city.

The Glass Slipper Inn was a nice place in the fifties, but by the late sixties it was being used as a "place de rendezvous" by the then-pioneers of Silicon Valley. It has gone downhill ever since, so this report surprises no one!

neighbor,

Reputable contributor to our city? You mean it's not up to your standards? Maybe you should move to Atherton where crimes aren't publicized and let us have a city that at least approaches normalness.

Where is a good place to learn self-defense in the Palo Alto area? We need to be ready to protect ourselves.

Google

modelmugging

They are not for profit.

I took their multi-class course and it changed my life. You may have to travel a bit, but it is well worth it. I believe they have scholarships available if you cannot cover the cost.

As a little kid, whenever we drove past that place I always wanted to go into their castle towers. I guess if I had, I would have learned a few things too early, and not just that they were fake.
