Kariem McFarlin, the Alameda man charged with burglarizing the Palo Alto home of the late Steve Jobs, made a brief court appearance Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, but did not enter plea.

McFarlin, whose plea hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, is now scheduled to enter his plea on Nov. 21. McFarlin's attorney, James Kellenberger, said that he had spoken to the prosecutor, Deputy District Attorney Tom Flattery, and they agreed to request a continuance. Judge Thang Nguyen Barrett granted Kellenberger's request.

The hearing followed a similar script to McFarlin's Sept. 19 court appearance. At that time, Kellenberger asked for more time to review information he had recently received in discovery.

McFarlin was arrested in August and charged with breaking into the Waverley Street home of Apple's late co-founder and making off with a cache of electronic items and jewelry. The home was undergoing renovations and was not occupied at the time of the burglary, police said. Investigators said McFarlin made off with two Apple computers, an iPad, three iPods, two Tiffany necklaces and Jobs' wallet.
