Palo Alto boy falls from second-story window
7-year-old breaks forearm in morning incident

Bookmark and Share
A 7-year-old Palo Alto boy was injured after falling from a second-story window and landing on the ground Saturday morning, June 2, Palo Alto police said.

The boy was playing on the back of the family sofa when the incident occurred at about 10:24 a.m., Palo Alto police Sgt. Sal Madrigal said.

Police and fire personnel were called to the apartment in the 2100 block of Williams Street, between Stanford and College avenues.

Palo Alto Fire Battalion Chief Doug Conn said the boy's parents called 911 after he fell 15 feet. When emergency personnel arrived, he was awake and breathing.

Madrigal and Conn said the boy was taken to a local hospital emergency room and treated for a broken forearm.

There was no evidence that anything other than an accident had occurred, Madrigal said.

There's that famous Palo Alto apathy!

...and yet it took four months for the Palo Alto Police Dept. and Palo Alto Building Inspection Dept. to report the death of a Palo Alto Building Inspector from a traumautic fall. No word yet from the City Manager who continues to issue a "no response" "no comment" answer to questions asked about this accident. What a pity.

Hopefully, this will be a warning to other parents who have kids. Sofas should be away from second story windows.
