Palo Alto woman dies after car crash in Menlo Park

A 57-year-old Palo Alto woman has died after suffering injuries in a car crash on Wednesday in Menlo Park.

Police continue to investigate the collision.

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office confirmed that Jenice Chou of Palo Alto died at Stanford Hospital the day after the Nov. 20 crash.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2002 Toyota, driven by Ms. Chou, jumped the median into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane of University Avenue, according to Menlo Park police. The car then hit a 2013 Mercedes, driven by a 60-year-old Union City woman, head-on.

The drivers were both taken to the hospital, police said. The other woman sustained serious injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

At this time, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, according to the report.

The collision snarled traffic for hours as investigators collected evidence. The Menlo Park Police Department asks that anyone with information about the accident call 330-6300.
