Jared Hakuole rushed for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Wake Hawkins threw for 203 yards and four touchdowns and the Menlo College football team downed host La Verne, 56-7, in a nonconference game on Saturday.
The Oaks (2-3) bounced back from a tough loss at home to rout the Owls. They hope to carry that momentum into next Friday afternoon's game at Lindenwood University.

Menlo recorded 645 yards of total offense, 390 of which came on the ground. In addition to Jared Hakuole, Brandon Bell added 136 yards and Jordan Hakuole had 77 yards.
Senior linebacker Jaden Roselli led the defense with 10 tackles, while Denzel Guewell and Emilio Mendoza each had six. Nick Gordon forced a fumble, Ray Roach, James Yoder and Cameron Grad each recorded an interception and PJ Cress added a quarterback sack.
