Police were forced to intervene Saturday (July 23) when a 68-year-old Palo Alto woman allegedly threatened to kill her neighbor with a hammer, Palo Alto police said Tuesday.
The dispute began when the neighbor's small dog wandered into Barbara Bossier's yard in the 3900 block of El Camino Real, near Los Robles Avenue, at about 11:30 a.m., Sgt. Sal Madrigal said. Bossier allegedly became enraged over the intrusive canine, grabbed a hammer and said she would kill the neighbor, a woman in her 30s, Madrigal said.
"She got a hold of a hammer and threatened to hit the victim in the head with the hammer," he said.
The neighbor got scared and quickly returned to her home to call police, Madrigal said. Police arrived and arrested Bossier for assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.
