MVLA Community Scholars mentor opportunities
MVLA Community Scholars is searching for volunteers in the community to mentor local, underserved students at high schools in Mountain View and Los Altos. Environmental Volunteers Docent Training
At these sessions, Environmental Volunteers will train community members on how to staff the EcoCenter at the Palo Alto Baylands, where they can share a love of nature with others. The commitment is flexible and can be as little as 2.5 hours a month. No experience is necessary. Sundays, Aug. 10 and 24, 1-5 p.m. Free. La Comida volunteer opportunities
The La Comida Senior Lunch Program has various volunteer opportunities available, including helping to welcome and serve seniors, translate, work on special projects and do community outreach. Silicon Valley Tour de Coop preparation
Neighbors Helping Neighbors will hold a variety of volunteer activities leading up to and during the Silicon Valley Tour de Coop, a bike ride between chicken coops and home gardens on September 21. Volunteer opportunities include putting up fliers and posters, doing test bike rides, organizing other small events to spread the word and staffing locations on tour day. The organization also seeks community members with chicken coops, beehives and home gardens to host stops. June-September, dates and times vary. Free.
