Sports5K Blues Run
The first ever East Palo Alto 5K Blues Run, which will happen in conjunction with the East Palo Alto Blues Festival, will benefit Able Works, a nonprofit which teaches financial education and life skills. SportsTour de Peninsula
Serious cyclists, weekend warriors and families can participate in various events as part of Tour de Peninsula, which benefits the San Mateo County parks. A post-ride expo will include live music and a kids-only ride. Aug. 3, 6 a.m.-3 p.m. $50 adult, before July 31, $55 day of; $25 age 12-17; free for children 11 and under. SportsSMCHA English Schooling Show

SportsThe Summer Event at Woodside
The Summer Event at Woodside will host top-level riders and horses as they compete in dressage, cross country jumping and stadium jumping. SportsMenlo Charity Horse Show Grand Prix
The Los Gatos Luxury Cars $40,000 Grand Prix will take place at the Menlo Charity Horse Show, in which top riders will lead their horses over a course of jumps, some as tall as 5 feet. Aug. 5-10, 6-7:45 p.m. $10. Menlo Circus Club, 190 Park Lane, Atherton.
